It was truly my privilege to be part of the 142nd retinal detachment course at Euretina 2026 in Vienna
Led by the Prof Kreissig who is a living legend in retina along with Dr Thorsten Boeker from Germany.
It was very heartening to see the room packed with so many early career retinal surgeons keen to learn about scleraL buckling.
Buckling is a dying art, and the fact that so many people were interested in this course and buckling truly gives a lot of hope to us all.
Subsequently enjoyed an amazing Mozart concert in his first house near the St Stephen Cathedral!
