Are there clean and comfortable waiting areas at your clinics?
Absolutely. Our clinics maintain hygienic and air-conditioned waiting spaces with ample seating. Cleanliness is a high priority for us and you'll often see supervisors doing rounds to ensure this.

Can someone accompany me during my consultation or surgery?
Yes, we usually encourage one attendant to accompany you for help and support. We also encourage patients to not get multiple attendants unless absolutely necessary as this crowds & congests patient spaces.

Are refreshments or water available while waiting?
Yes, we provide clean drinking water on all floors via dispensers. If you would like some refreshments, snacks or packaged water or juice, these are available for purchase from our canteen.

How can I book an appointment at Shroff Eye Centre?
You can call us directly on 9910956780, use our website to request an appointment or visit us in person for walk-in appointments (subject to availability). We strongly encourage patients to book an appointment as otherwise you may have a long wait time or not get to see a doctor of your choice.

Do I need a referral to see an eye specialist?
No referral is needed for an appointment at Shroff Eye Centre. You can directly book a consultation with any of our eye specialists.

How long will my eye checkup take?
While we aim to see patients quickly, we advise you keep around 1-2 hours for a full eye checkup. In an eye check-up, multiple things are done- we need to check your refraction (eye power), eye pressure and then you will meet our eye specialist. Your eyes may be dilated after this to check your retina. If the eye specialist orders a cross-referral or special tests or your eyes need to be dilated, this may mean you will be at the centre for longer.

Can I consult the same eye doctor again for follow-ups?
Yes, continuity of care is important. We encourage you to meet the same doctor for follow-up appointments.

No, we do not offer teleconsultations or video appointments.

Please carry a valid ID, insurance/TPA details, CGHS/ECHS/DGHS referral letters (where applicable), previous eye prescriptions, any past medical records, and current medication details.

Are walk-in patients accepted?
Walk-ins are accepted but subject to doctor availability. Prior appointment is recommended to avoid long waiting times or to meet a doctor of your choice.

Yes, as a tertiary referral eye care centre we regularly provide second opinions for all eye problems including cataract, retina, glaucoma, uvea, squint and other cases.

Is there a registration or consultation fee?
Yes, new patients pay a nominal registration fee at the first consult. After this, only the consultation fee is charged based on the doctor and specialty. Details are shared when you book your appointment.

No, most surgeries are done under local or topical anesthesia and you do not feel any pain during the surgery. You may experience some discomfort after eye surgery which is usually well managed by over-the-counter medication.

Will I need someone to accompany me for my eye surgery?
Yes, we ask you to get an attendant to assist you on the day of surgery. For your safety, we usually do not do surgery if you are alone.

Discharge and Admission Facilities

How long will I need to stay at the hospital after my eye surgery?
Most eye surgeries are done on a day-care basis. You'll be discharged the same day after a short observation period.

Do I need to stay overnight for all surgeries?
No. Most procedures like cataract, SILK, LASIK, retina surgery, corneal transplant do not need an overnight stay at the hospital. But you do have to come for a follow up visit usually the next day.

What should I bring on the day of my eye surgery?
Please bring your ID, insurance papers (if any), recent reports, proof of pre-payment, medication you are on and any other documents our staff has asked you to get during your pre-surgery counselling.
