Surgical Training

Surgical training involves assisting faculty during surgeries in all subspecialities of eye including cataract, glaucoma, retina, oculoplasty, cornea, LASIK and refractive surgery, and squint. The students are trained to perform common surgeries like cataract surgery, pterygium excision and glaucoma surgery, with due stress on supervised surgery to learn the correct technique of operating. Students are encouraged to record their surgeries and reflect later on how to correct and further improve upon their surgical technique. Proper documentation of out-patient and in-patient records is also stressed.
