Primary open-angle glaucoma and angle closure glaucoma are both hereditary. If anyone in your immediate family, particularly a parent or grandparent, has been diagnosed with glaucoma, you are likely to develop glaucoma more often than the general population.
We advise family members of glaucoma patients to get their eyes checked for glaucoma regularly.
