Angle-closure glaucoma is caused by the closure of drainage canals, resulting in a sudden rise in intraocular pressure. Closed-angle means there is a closed or narrow angle between the iris and cornea.
The early eye symptoms may be one sided headaches with colored haloes seen around light and blurring of vision.
The patient may have severe pain in the eye, redness, headache, nausea & vomiting
Unlike open angle glaucoma, the symptoms and signs of closed-angle glaucoma develop rapidly in some individuals
If severe, it requires urgent medical attention.
